Forever Young BBL®/Candela Gentle Max Pro are devices that have been shown to change the expression of genes associated with aging, longevity, and increased lifespan. With regular Photofacial treatments, patients' skin looks clear, smooth, and much younger. Average treatment time of 30-45 minutes for a full face and can be done on all body areas such as neck, chest, arms, and hands.

What is a Photofacial?

If you are concerned about how your skin looks because of dark spots or sun damage, Kiss Aesthetics can give you a consultation at our Minooka and Tinley Park, IL offices to determine if you could benefit from Laser Rejuvenation or broad band light (BBL) therapies. Also called photofacials, these rejuvenating skin treatments can address hyperpigmentation problems on the face and neck. A photofacial may not be an invasive process, but it can be highly effective and create impressive outcomes. We use light energy from the mJOULE® device from Sciton and 755 Alexandrite/1064 YAG from Candela to raise the temperature of the skin just enough to trigger its natural regeneration process and boost collagen production. In time, you should see a healthier-looking complexion with a more even tone and fewer spots of pigmentation.

What Can I Expect from these Treatments?

Photofacial treatments are done at our Minooka and Tinley Park, IL offices in around 30-45 minutes in a private treatment room. The technician will clean and dry your skin before protecting your eyes with covers. The Photofacial is performed using a handheld device that passes over the skin while emitting pulses of light energy. While most patients may feel some discomfort throughout the process, it is generally tolerable for the short treatment time.

When you leave our office your skin may be a little red and swollen, but this will go away on its own after a short time. Kiss Aesthetics recommends you apply a cream on the treated areas to minimize irritation and promote healing. It may also help to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicine to help decrease swelling. Over the next two to five days, the irregularities under the skin will come to the surface and flake away. It's crucial to protect your skin from the sun after a Photofacial and use SPF. Your complexion will get the best results after several sessions; we recommend approximately 3-6 sessions about 4-6 weeks apart at Kiss Aesthetics.

About Us
How long do the results of a photofacial last?

The longevity of photofacial results can vary, but typically, patients at Kiss Aesthetics enjoy the benefits for several months up to a year. Factors such as skin type, severity of skin issues, and adherence to post-treatment care (like using SPF) play a crucial role.

Can photofacials treat all types of hyperpigmentation?

Photofacials, particularly with the advanced mJOULE® and 755 Alexandrite/1064 YAG technologies used at Kiss Aesthetics, are highly effective for various types of hyperpigmentation, including age spots, sun damage, and some types of melasma. However, the effectiveness can vary depending on the contrast between the pigmentation and the surrounding skin.

Are there any specific precautions to take before undergoing a photofacial?

It's advisable to avoid direct sun exposure and tanning treatments for a few weeks prior to your session. Additionally, certain medications, particularly those that increase photosensitivity, should be avoided as per our professional guidance. Our team will provide detailed pre-treatment instructions during the consultation to ensure your skin is optimally prepared for the procedure.
