What are chemical peels?
At Kiss Aesthetics we offer multiple types of chemical peels ranging from light exfoliation, acne focused, to medium depth corrective exfoliation. Whether your concern is acne, pigmentation, anti-aging, rosacea, or dryness, we have a chemical peel for you! Any peel may be applied to any area of the body including but not limited to; neck, chest, back etc.
VI Chemical peels are medium-depth medical-grade chemical peels that treat acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of aging. They use a synergistic blend of acids (TCA, salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol) to exfoliate the skin and stimulate collagen production.
Face Reality Chemical Peels are professional, corrective exfoliating treatments designed specifically for acne-prone, congested, and hyperpigmented skin. Formulated with a blend of gentle yet effective acids, they unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and fade dark spots—all without stripping the skin’s moisture barrier.
Includes:
Clear Skin Peel: for mild to moderate active acne lesions.
Brightening Lactic Acid Peel: For brightening skin, lightening brown and red pigmentation
Hydrating Enzyme Peel: For dry skin, gently exfoliates dead skin and hydrates the skin.
What are the benefits to Chemical peels?
- Signs of Aging: Smooths fine lines, wrinkles, and rough skin texture.
- Sun Damage: Fades sun spots, age spots, melasma and uneven skin tone.
- Hyperpigmentation: Lightens dark patches from melasma or hormonal shifts.
- Acne and Scarring: Clears mild acne blemishes and reduces shallow acne scars.
Who is a candidate for chemical peels?
Pigmentation Issues: People with sun spots, melasma, freckles, or dark spots left behind by old acne breakouts.
Textural Issues: Individuals with rough skin, enlarged pores, or shallow, atrophic acne scars.
Aging Skin: Those looking to soften fine lines, mild facial wrinkles, and dullness by revealing fresh, underlying skin layers.
Active Acne: Unlike microneedling, mild chemical peels (like salicylic acid) are excellent for clearing active surface pimples and blackheads.
Light (Superficial) Peels: (Face Reality & PCA) Best for mild acne, fine lines, dryness, and uneven tone. These utilize gentle acids (like glycolic or salicylic acid) to remove the epidermis and require little downtime.
Medium Peels: (VI peels) Designed for deeper wrinkles, acne scarring, and discoloration. They use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to penetrate the middle layer of the skin (dermis) and may require several days of recovery.
Who is not a candidate for chemical peels?
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding: Expecting or nursing mothers must avoid chemical peels, as certain acids (like salicylic acid) can absorb into the bloodstream, and hormonal shifts make pigment reactions highly unpredictable.
Sunburned or Tanned Skin: Treating recently UV-damaged skin increases the risk of blistering and permanent discoloration.
Recent Accutane Use: Individuals who have taken oral isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6 to 12 months, as the skin cannot repair its protective barrier safely.
Active Infections or Open Wounds: Anyone with active cold sore outbreaks (herpes simplex), bacterial infections, or open sores in the target area.
